The Humanities Department offers courses which exam the breath of human experience through the study, analysis, and discussion of creative writing, composition, reading, literature, foreign languages, linguistics, American Sign Language, art, photography, film, music, communication and philosophy in their cultural and historical context.
The Social Science department offers courses in geography, sociology, psychology, anthropology, political science, history, human sexuality, social identity, civil rights and political institutions, kinship and culture, international relations, and comparative governments.
The courses offered in this division will enrich students’ lives while improving their basic skills in reading and writing and meet the general education requirements and courses of study to complete various associate degrees and associated degrees for transfer. The practical benefit of the courses offered in this division is that they help prepare our students for success in their careers.
