Approved the following:

  • Out-of-State Travel for Reedley College Associated Student Government to attend the National Student Advocacy Conference hosted by the American Student Association of Community Colleges
  • Out-of-State Student Travel for Reedley College Music Department to perform with the Simba School of Music in Washington, DC and New York City, NY, April 16-20, 2019
  • Out-of-State Student Travel for Reedley College Women's Equestrian Team to compete in Western Semi Finals and National Championship Competition in Florida
  • The 2019-2020 Budget Development Calendar
  • The use of reserve funds by Fresno City College for expenditures as presented in the amount of $1,905,000

Approved the following grant agreement recommendations:

Fresno City College and Reedley College have received a new Textbook Affordability Program agreement for $24,500 each from the California State University, Office of the Chancellor for the development and adoption of high quality, free and open educational resources for course materials.

Fresno City College has received a $200,000 renewal agreement from Rancho Santiago Community College District for the Deputy Sector Navigator - Information & Communication Technology grant.

The District has received a $300,000 renewal agreement from the State Chancellor’s Office to support the Central/Mother Lode Regional Consortium. The funding will provide support for alignment and integration of CTE pathways within the regional priority and emergent industry sectors.

Reedley College has received an additional $22,500 apportionment allocation from the State Chancellor's Office for the certified nursing assistant program.

Fresno City College and Reedley College in partnership with California State University, Fresno received a total of $502,500 in funding from the U.S. Department of Education for the Title V, Teacher Prep Grant.

The report from Closed Session included:

The board reviewed, considered, and approved the settlement agreement regarding pending litigation in the matter of Megan Hayes v. State Center Community College District, et al.

The board unanimously approved a purchase agreement for the real property located at 1249 E. Yale, Fresno, CA for a total purchase price of $160,000.

On January 8, 2019 the Board of Trustees voted unanimously to discipline a custodian.
