Monthly Board Highlights - September 2017

If you were unable to attend the September 5, 2017 Board of Trustees meeting, here are some of the actions that took place.

The Board of Trustees heard the following reports and presentations:

  • Capital Construction Projects and Bond Measures C and E Update
  • Academic Senate Report
  • Classified Senate Report
  • Personnel Commission Annual Report
  • Held a Public Hearing and Adopted the 2017-2018 Final Budget

Approved the following:

  • Clovis Community College Strategic Plan
  • Fresno City College Educational Master Plan

Approved the following:

  • Academic personnel transactions
  • Classified personnel transactions
  • New position of Limited Term Office Assistant 1, District Office
  • New position of Limited Term Program Development Assistant, CITD
  • New position of Limited Term Administrative Assistant, CITD

Appointed Roberta Kunkel as the Clovis Community College representative and James Ortez as the Clovis Community College alternate representative to the State Center Adult Education Consortium

Adopted the following resolutions:

  • No. 2017.26 Authorizing Emergency Repairs at the RC Locker Room
  • No. 2017.24 Compliance with SB1029 – Mandated Debt Issuance and Management Policy
  • No. 2017.22, Authorizing the Issuance of the Election of 2016 General Obligation Bonds, Series A. This is the first bond sale which will be for $75 million.
  • No. 2017.23 Authorizing the issuance of the State Center Community College District 2017 General Obligation Refunding Bond. Refinancing $10 million from Measure E to save property owners money.
  • No. 2017.25 Supporting a commitment to a just and equitable community college district free of racism, hatred and bigotry

Approved the following grant agreement recommendations:

The Center for International Trade Development has received a new grant agreement from the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA). The funding will provide retail in-store promotions, a booth rental in the trade show ABASTUR, and trade mission to Mexico City to bring California agriculture companies and consumers awareness of specialty crops.

Reedley College has received a sub-award from Humboldt State University for the HSI STEM grant. The funding will provide forty-six (46) STEM interested students an opportunity to visit Humboldt State University on a recruitment tour of the campus.
