Humanities

The Humanities Department offers courses that enrich students' lives while improving skills in reading and writing. Humanities courses meet general education requirements, and major requirements to complete various associates degrees and lower division transfer requirements. An integrated program of study in the humanities provides students with a foundation in the liberal arts that prepares them for further study in many different disciplines. Courses in the department examine the breadth and depth of human experience.

Our commitment to providing students with a well-rounded and personal academic experience can be felt throughout the humanities. From faculty collaborations between courses to visiting presenters that are regularly speaking and presenting on campus, students are given opportunities to engage more deeply with the content they are studying. Students in the humanities at Clovis are featured each semester as part of events like the Communications Inter-palooza, the Students Arts Showcase and Review print publication, Music Performances, the Oxford Debate, and other exciting events to display their talent and hard work.
