Majoring in Child Development prepares students for jobs in a variety of early care and education settings as well as in related fields working with children and families. The Associate in Science in Early Childhood Education for Transfer Degree is designed for students who plan to complete a bachelor’s degree in a similar major at the CSU campus.
Major requirements (24 units minimum)
A grade of “C” or better is required in the following courses:

To obtain the Associate in Science in Early Childhood Education for Transfer Degree, students must complete the following requirements:
- Certification of either the California State University General Education Breadth (CSU GE-Breadth) or the Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC-CSU version) is required.
- CSU GE-Breadth and IGETC advisory sheets are available in Student Services, AC2 #133 or online at CCC GE(CSU/UC) GE and Major Sheets.

A minimum of 60 CSU-transferrable units with a grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 or better must be completed.
