Student Success Checklist for Incoming Students

Step 1

Complete the application:

Step 2

Activate College Email:

  • Go to my portal
  • Update your password within 45 days of receiving your college ID.
  • All district communication is sent via SCCCD email (i.e. payment, waitlist, registration, alerts, etc.).

Step 3

Complete the online orientation:

  • The sooner you complete it, the earlier your registration date can be.
  • Complete the online orientation at
  • Scroll down on website and click the small link titled Online Orientation.
  • Online orientation will be available December 1, 2020 at 7:00 a.m.

Step 4

Apply for Financial Aid:

  • Complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) at or California Dream Act application at You may be eligible for two years of free community college.
  • Create an FSA ID for students and one parent/guardian to sign application.
  • FAFSA open Octobers 1, 2020. Apply by March 2, 2021 to be eligible for CalGrants and additional funds.
  • Scholarship applications and information are available on each of the colleges’ financial aid websites.

Step 5

Meet with a college counselor online for your Student Educational Plan Abbreviated (SEPA):

  • A college counselor will help you plan your major and the appropriate level of classes to take.
  • The Student Educational Plan Abbreviated (SEPA) provides guidance to help you choose your classes during registration (Step 7).
  • If you are in high school, your high school counselor will provide you details on how this will be accomplished.

Step 6

Load your cart with classes in webadvisor:

  • Prepare for class registration by using your SEPA and adding them to your cart in WebAdvisor.
  • Familiarize yourself with links and services such as class registration, tuition/fee payments, financial aid awards, updating personal records and more.
  • To access WebAdvisor, click MyPortal> Sign-In> WebAdvisor> Student Menu

Step 7

Register For Classes:

  • On April 21, 2021 check your college email for your registration date and time.
  • Currently enrolled high school students: Check with your high school counselor on how virtual registration will take place.
  • Access WebAdvisor to Search/Register for classes. If you need help with registration call the Welcome Center, at 559-325-5421 for help.
  • Reminder: Continue to check your student email if you are on a waitlist for classes.

Step 8

Attended new student welcome events during the summer:

  • This event will be offered virtually. You will learn about support services, interact with instructors, meet academic counselors and fellow students.
  • Check your college email for dates, times and registration information.

How to apply for summer/fall at Clovis Community College 2021

Step 1

Go to

Scroll down until you see the Apply to Clovis Community College button.

Step 2

Click the Create An Account link to create your free account.

Then Click:
Begin Creating My Account
After you have created the account, continue by clicking Create My Account.

Step 3

Click Start New Application followed by the selection of Summer/Fall 2021 term to complete the application process.

There are nine tabs you will fill out: Enrollment, Account, Education, Citizenship/Military, Residency, Needs & Interests, Demographic Information, Supplemental Questions, and Submission.

Step 4

You have completed the application process. You will receive two emails: 1st email confirmation will come from CCC Apply and the 2nd email will come from SCCCD Admissions & Records with your college ID within 24-48.

Gain access to Student Email, Canvas, and WebAdvisor through My Portal.
To sign in:

  1. Go to your college website and click My Portal in the top right corner of the page.
  2. Click Sign-In
  3. Username is your seven-digit community college ID
  4. Password is uppercase first letter of your first name, lowercase first letter of your last name, six-digit date of birth. For Example: Mark Jones January 2, 2001 would be: Mj010201
