President Bennett delivering her speech at the second annual president's breakfast

The Second President's Breakfast

Sep 24, 2019

The 2nd President’s Breakfast was held at the Clovis Veterans Memorial District on September 24. Attendees included elected officials, educational leaders, and community leaders.

Dr. Bennett, Clovis Community College President, spoke about the hard working students and how they overcome many challenges to meet such high standards. “Across all 115 California Community Colleges,  Clovis Community College is ranked #1 for the number of transfer students to UC’s and CSU’s (per 1,000 students); #1 in Associate Degrees for Transfer earned (compared to similarly sized community colleges); and #1 in Associate Degrees earned with the fewest units accumulated, which means our students are not stacking up lots of unnecessary units or courses on their way to degree completion.  We are extremely proud to provide the academic excellence that supports such high levels of student achievement.  We want everyone to share our pride in Creating Opportunities…One Student at a Time!

President Bennett extended a big thank you to all the “Crush” sponsors: California Health Sciences University, Fresno/Clovis Convention and Visitors Bureau, and KSEE24.

A few of the elected officials in attendance included Assemblyman Dr. Joaquin Arambula, Assemblyman Jim Patterson, City of Clovis Mayor Pro Tem Jose Flores, City of Clovis Councilmember Vong Mouanoutoua, City of Fresno Councilmember Mike Karbassi and Fresno County Superintendent of Schools Jim Yovino.
