Know Your Rights!

If you see ICE on campus please follow the current protocol:

The most important thing to remember if ICE comes onto campus and you are the one who encounters the agents is that you are to contact President Armstrong and our SCCCD Police Department.

Everyone will be provided with a “blue card” as a resource of what to say:

"California law and campus administrative policies do not authorize me to share student or employee information. Please come with me to the college president's office."

Procedures for Students and Employees:

Download the "ICE on Campus Protocol" or the "ICE Protocol At-a-Glance" for updated information on what to do if approached by ICE agents on the main campus or Herndon campus.

If you are approached by someone asking you for information about a student or employee:

  • Do not provide them with any information about students or staff. You are not authorized to release information about anyone. This includes identifying students in a course.
  • Ask the individual who they are and who they represent. If they say immigration or any law enforcement agency, get their name and credential, and notify the President's Office at (559) 325-5205, AND the SCCCD Police Department, (559) 244-5911
  • Be polite and professional. Do not lie to immigration or law enforcement officer or agent.
