Office of Administrative Services Update - April 2025

It’s amazing that we are already into May. This is such a special time of year, and I look forward to all the upcoming celebrations and commencement.

March

I attended the CHSU Ignite the Future Scholarship Gala on March 7th and SBDC Day on March 19th.

Business Office staffing update

We had additional changes to staffing during the month of March. I want to give a huge thank you to John Grasmick who was able to fill in as the Senior Accounting Technician when Machele was out of office.

Building Services update

As of March, we now have building services coverage throughout the entire day for Herndon. With added classes and continued use of Herndon for meetings and events, we found it important to have building services present throughout the day. In addition, Sergio and I worked with the building services team to make sure that there is still coverage in all buildings at the Willow location.

April

I participated in the Asian American Heritage Festival, attended the SCCC Foundation’s Elements of the Arts Gala, CCC Service Awards, and Kiwanis Torch of Excellence.

During the second week of April, I attended the APAHE 2025 conference.

Business Office staffing update

Earlier this month we welcomed Joseph Guerrero to our team as the provisional accounting technician. We are happy to have Joseph join us while we continue to recruit for the position.

Herndon Campus update

May 1st we welcomed Clarisa Benavidez who has stepped into the role of office specialist until Leslie Hernandez returns later this summer. If you are at Herndon Campus please make sure to stop by the front desk in building A to welcome Clarisa to our Clovis Crush Team!
