Office of Administrative Services Update - September 2025

On Behalf of Kimberly Duong, Vice President of Administrative Services

September was a fantastic month, full of energy and activity across campus. It’s exciting to witness the return of campus events and the vibrant student engagement that comes with them.

Earlier this month, I had the pleasure of attending our annual Scholarship Ceremony. It was truly inspiring to hear students share their stories, aspirations, and future goals. Their passion and determination are a powerful reminder of the impact we make.

I also attended the Dolores Huerta speaking event, where she shared her powerful journey and insights. It was moving to see our students engage with her through thoughtful questions—her influence continues to resonate deeply across generations.

On an exciting note, we’ve officially begun the planning meetings for the new Kinesiology and Wellness Building, which will be located just south of AC-3. In September, we held an initial meeting focused on programming and concept design. Additional meetings are scheduled throughout October.

Technology Update

New for this update: I’ll be sharing technology updates from time to time to keep everyone informed of key changes and improvements. Information will be provided by Director of College Technology Services, Teng Her.

As of October 1, students taking at least one class at CCC now have multi-factor authentication (MFA) enforced on their accounts, with the exception of students identified as part of dual-enrollment. This rollout occurred throughout September following a comprehensive communication campaign that included website banners, MyPortal messages, printed flyers, digital signage, emails, and in-person outreach.

If students experience any issues accessing their accounts, they are encouraged to visit the Open Computer Lab in AC1, available Monday–Thursday from 7:30 AM to 8:00 PM, and Friday from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Assistance is also available by phone at (559) 325-5294 during those same hours.

Additionally, our local technology services team continues to participate in the district-wide effort to implement TeamDynamix (TDX), the new shared platform for managing technology support requests. TDX is already in use by Facilities and the Student Support Help Desk. The workgroup is currently refining service categories and request types for each college.

At the Herndon Campus, the adjunct faculty workroom has been reestablished in Building A, Room 206. Two computers are available for work and printing to the color copier located in Room 204.
