Renee Garcia
LFSA Activities and Fundraising Coordinator
My name is Renee Garcia and I am the Deputy Title IX Coordinator on the Clovis Community College campus. I have been with the District since September 2022. I graduated from Fresno City College with an AA degree in Liberal Arts and my BS in Criminology-Corrections from Fresno State.
Prior to my position here on campus, I worked for Fresno County for 36-years, before retiring September 2022. I served the community in the following capacities: Student Social Worker with Juvenile Probation Department, Group Counselor in Juvenile Hall, Job Specialist with Department of Social Services and as a Deputy Public Guardian with Behavioral Health.
Throughout my career with Fresno County, I served the community in various capacities. From working as a counselor for troubled teens, to helping people become self-sufficient by finding employment, to excessive years of investigating cases for conservatorship, elder physical, sexual and financial abuse.
Although I’ve only been working at Clovis Community College 2.7 months, I’ve had the opportunity to serve on several committees and associations. I currently serve on the following committees; Latino Faculty Staff Association-Activities (LFSA), Classified Senate-Senator, TIX Workgroup, Student Success & Equity Committee, Rainbow Alliance Staff & Faculty Association (RASFA), Gay Sexuality Alliance (GSA), as well as overseeing the development of the on-campus Pride Center.
Being part of activities and fundraising for LFSA, will give me the opportunity to fundraise to support students through scholarships and celebrating their accomplishments, along with continued support and guidance.
