Clovis Community College has partnered with the F3 Initiative to offer the Ag Systems Certificate Program, a competency-based training designed to prepare California's Central Valley agricultural workforce for modern farming technologies and practices.
The AgTEC Workforce program addresses the agricultural industry's skills gap by providing accessible, flexible education to farmworkers and anyone seeking careers in agriculture. The certificate covers essential competencies including agricultural systems, digital literacy, equipment operation and troubleshooting, crop and animal production systems, food safety, and workplace effectiveness.
The program eliminates traditional barriers to education. Students don't need a GED, English proficiency, or even an email address to enroll. All coursework is available in both English and Spanish.
Built on a competency-based learning model, the program puts students in control of their education. The curriculum is asynchronous and self-paced, allowing students to advance after demonstrating mastery of each competency. Students can access online classes anytime and schedule in-person support when needed. This flexible approach lets students move quickly through familiar topics while spending more time on challenging material.
The Ag Systems Certificate is part of the larger F3 Initiative, which drives economic growth and technological advancement throughout California's Central Valley agricultural sector. The program equips workers with modern practices and technologies essential for the evolving agriculture industry.
