Do you excel in a particular subject? Do you enjoy helping others? Consider applying to be a tutor! We run a peer-tutoring center and believe in the importance of students helping students.
The benefits of becoming a tutor are many and include receiving an hourly wage, having a convenient job site and being part of a collaborative community, retaining subject area competency, and feeling good about helping others. Tutoring is a wonderful experience to add to a resume and may give you an advantage over your peers when it comes time to apply for internships and other professional opportunities.
To be eligible for hire, all applicants must be enrolled in at least 12 units and available on Monday evenings from 6:30 - 8:00 pm for meetings.
Applicants interested in a writing tutor position must be available on Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:00 - 2:50 pm to enroll in English 72, a course that supports the position.
Stop into the main center to pick up an application. Once completed, return the application to the center. Include with your application a typed listing of your projected availability.
