Cybersecurity Resources

National Cyber League

The NCL is a defensive and offensive puzzle-based, capture-the-flag style cybersecurity competition. Its virtual training ground prepares high school and college students to test their cybersecurity skills against challenges they may encounter in the workforce. All participants compete simultaneously during the Preseason, Individual Game, and Team Game. The NCL is open to players of all skill levels, offering easy, medium, and hard challenges, providing multiple opportunities for students to excel in their areas of strength.

picoCTF

picoCTF (Capture the Flag), created by security experts at Carnegie Mellon University, is a free computer security game designed for middle and high school students. The game presents a series of challenges within a unique storyline, requiring participants to reverse engineer, crack, hack, decrypt, or employ various techniques to solve them. These challenges are intentionally designed to be breached, providing an excellent and legal opportunity for hands-on experience.

CyberPatriot

CyberPatriot, the National Youth Cyber Education Program created by the Air & Space Forces Association, aims to inspire K-12 students to pursue careers in cybersecurity and other critical science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines. At the program's core is the National Youth Cyber Defense Competition, the nation's largest cyber defense competition, which challenges high school and middle school students to secure virtual networks.

Cyber.org

CYBER.ORG, supported by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, provides free cybersecurity curriculum and professional development to K-12 educators, aiming to build a strong pipeline of future cybersecurity professionals and increase cyber literacy among students nationwide.

CISA

CISA, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, is a U.S. Department of Homeland Security agency that protects critical infrastructure from cyber and physical threats, serving as the nation's risk advisor and working to enhance cybersecurity across government and private sectors.
