Small Business Development Center

A partnership with Clovis Community College and UC Merced

Clovis Community College has hosted the Valley Community Small Business Development Center (SBDC) since 2018. The Valley Community SBDC is part of the UC Merced Regional SBDC Network and receives funding from the U.S. Small Business Administration and the California Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-BIZ).

The center serves students, entrepreneurs, and small business owners throughout Fresno, Madera, Tulare, and Kings counties with a variety of services including no-cost business consulting, technical assistance, and workshops. In the 2021/2022 program year, the SBDC (ending 6/30/22) served 982 entrepreneurs and small businesses; supported over 2,800 jobs; helped start 47 new businesses; and facilitated over $20.8 million in capital infusion for clients.

The Valley Community SBDC has earned various recognitions including being rated the #1 SBDC in the UC Merced Regional Network.
