Small Business Development Center

A partnership with Clovis Community College and UC Merced

Clovis Community College has hosted Valley Community Small Business Development Center (SBDC) since 2018. Valley Community SBDC is part of the UC Merced Regional SBDC Network and receives funding from the U.S. Small Business Administration and the California Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-BIZ).

The center serves students, entrepreneurs, and small business owners throughout Fresno, Madera, Tulare, and Kings counties with a variety of services including no-cost business advising, technical assistance, and workshops. In the 2023/2024 program year, the SBDC (ending 6/30/24) served over 950 entrepreneurs and small businesses; supported 5,910 jobs; helped start 84 new businesses; and facilitated over $17 million in capital infusion for clients.

Valley Community SBDC has earned various recognitions including being rated the #1 SBDC in the Central California SBDC Network, an accredited member of America's SBDC.
