Graduate Checklist

The countdown for commencement begins! Review these to-do items to be ready for the big day. Deadlines listed below are subject to change. Check your SCCCD student email regularly for important notifications.

Ellucian Self-Service PortalStudents who anticipate meeting degree and/or certificate requirements by the end of a term need to submit a degree application for the degree in Self-Service by the stated deadline for that term. Failure to apply before the final deadline will delay the granting of the degree/certificate to the end of the next term.

Note: Associate Degrees are not granted automatically when students complete the requirements.

How to apply for your degree/certificate

To apply for degree/certificate completion, students log in to Self-Service and select Apply for Degree/Certificate  from the Academics tab. If you are eligible for more than one degree, you can select Back to Programs of Study to apply for additional degrees or certificates, if applicable. If you do not see the certificate or degree program you intend to apply for in Self-Service, meet with a counselor to obtain assistance with adding the program and to review your degree progress.

Apply for Degree/Certificate

If you completed coursework at another college or have Advanced Placement or other exam credit that you would like to be considered in the evaluation of your degree/certificate at CCC, you must provide an official transcript and/or an official exam score reports prior to being evaluated for the degree/certificate. Degree/certificate completion requirements will be verified at the end of the term once final grades have been posted.

Diplomas and certificates are mailed to successful graduates approximately sixty business days from the last day of the term the degree or certificate is conferred. They will be mailed to the address listed in Self-Service.
