2025 Commencement Speaker

Alexis Silva's journey is one of resilience, growth, and determination. Early on, she made several attempts at college, but due to difficult life circumstances, her grades suffered, and she eventually stepped away. After spending years navigating a difficult chapter in her life, she reached a turning point. One day, while feeding her son, she made a promise to herself:

"It’s not that you can finish, you will finish."

Driven by the desire to create a better future for herself and her three children, Alexis returned to school with a clear purpose. Now, she is preparing to graduate from Clovis Community College magna cum laude, a powerful reminder that perseverance can rewrite any story.

Alexis will transfer to Fresno State to pursue a degree in Psychology, with the goal of supporting survivors of domestic trauma and inspiring others to rise above their challenges.
