Clovis Community College is the state’s 113th community college and serves over 17,000 students in the Central Valley, and joins Fresno City College, Reedley College and Madera Community College as part of State Center Community College District. We hold true to our goal and mission statement of “Creating Opportunities – One Student at a Time.” This goal is achieved with a highly qualified staff of educators and support personnel who reflect the diversity of our unique community and embrace a flexible attitude toward change and encourage the spirit of innovation.

Background and History
In response to the tremendous growth in the northeast Fresno and Clovis areas, the new 110-acre Clovis Community College opened for the 2007 fall semester. The 80,000 square-foot academic center one (AC1) includes a state-of-the-art open computer lab, multi-media labs, classroom facilities, art studios, assembly hall, and a variety of offices and student services.
Clovis Community College opened a second 80,000 square-foot academic center in July, 2010, that houses allied health, physics, and science laboratories, fitness center, dance studio, library/learning center, student services, offices and classrooms.
A $6 million licensed childcare facility is available to students taking child development and pre-teaching courses. Funding was secured to construct the state-of-the-art Early Childhood Education Center through collaboration with the State of California, Clovis Unified School District, and State Center Community College District.
The campus has a bookstore and café for student and staff convenience. The college also includes the Clovis Community College, Herndon Campus, located approximately 4 miles from the main campus to provide additional classroom space and better access for community members who live closer to that location.
NEW Applied Technology Building

In October of 2025, Clovis Community College opened the new 68,500 square-foot Applied Technology building. The building includes several science labs, classrooms, a reflection room, large lecture hall/performance room, a variety of office and student study space, and large meeting room. Various CTE (Career Technology Education) programs are housed in the new Applied Technology Building, including a state-of-the-art digital music recording studio, occupational therapy assistant, and Automation, Robotics and Mechatronics (ARM).
Comprehensive Programs Designed to Help Students Meet Their Goals
Many students attend Clovis Community College to fulfill their general education requirements and prepare for transfer to four-year institutions. In addition, the college offers a variety of career technical programs leading to certificates and associate degrees reflecting the most current job skills and local employer demand.
Honors and Awards
- Clovis Community College continues to make history with many accolades and accomplishments, because of its emphasis on excellence and student success, and recently had its accreditation reaffirmed for eight years by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC). Additional awards and accomplishments: Invited to apply for the 2023 Aspen Prize as one of the top 150 community colleges nationwide;
- Awarded “Champion for Higher Education,” for exemplary work in awarding associate degrees for transfer for seven years in a row from 2018 to 2024 by the Campaign for College Opportunity;
- Selected Top 10 Finalist for the National Bellwether Award in 2018, out of nearly 400 nominations submitted nationwide, for our English Department’s collaboration with Clovis West High School; and
- Clovis Community College is recognized as a top transfer college:

- Operates an integrated student services support program that prioritizes student success and equity and supports students’ basic needs that contribute to student success including social, emotional, physical and mental health.
Opportunities and Challenges

This will include championing racial equity, and social justice, while leading an ongoing and all-inclusive dialogue on fostering a culture of equity, inclusion, and anti-racism.
